hey guys!!!

long time no write ( i must confess...elly's postin inspired me to as well).

things here in canada...have been...ok. its had its ups and downs. well, schools ok...my teachers are all really good...though socially its been kinda hard. its not that i dont have friends, but im havin a hard time finding my "niche" persay. unfortunately, the school's extremely clichey, so me being one that usually is a "group-hopper", its sucks, a lot. we're all put into houses ( yes, like harry potter  hehe) and so im friends with the girls in my house, though some are a littley too...i dunno, not exactly shallow, but "fluffy" if that makes sense. i've heard some back-talk about other people, so it makes me worried about what they say about me. but then, they're also really nice to me...so i don't get it. and then there's a girl from rec swimming ( they make you do some kind of sport every season, and i didn't make b-ball, so yea) that i really like a lot, and im gettin to kinda know here friends, so hopefully i can chill with them more...the only prob is, they're boarders, and i'm a day student. so yea...but she's part of the "islander" group...there's a whole bunch of kids from barbados, cayman islands...the carribbean in general. i think thats pretty cool

theres so much for me to say...urm. lets see. they had a "New Student Fun and Games Day" the first weekend, aka initiation day. i've never been so muddy and soapy at the same time in my whole life. hrm...well friday was our halloween dress day, and my sis and i (taking advantage of our american status) were "red-necks" we literally painted our necks red, but also were chewin the hay, and had braids, and all that jazz. it was pretty fun. we were the reps for our house for the "ugliest costume" category.

i've found that canadians in generally are a lot nicer, but also a lot less blunt. by that i mean, they're nice to everyone, even if they hate you...whereas for americans, if you like someone, you're nice to them, if you don't like someone you're either mean or you just don't talk to them. i miss that straightforwardness... hehe

well...one thing that sucks is i haven't really gotten to know any kids in my neighborhood...cux my school is wayyy far away. i have to wake up at 5:30 every morning. im getting used to it though.

i'm really trying to put my best foot forward, but at times i can't help but feel weird or out of place. i'm on the improv team though, so i think that'll help me break out of my shell...but even still.today i was reading the notes people wrote at the end of the year in my black book...it made me miss people...a lot. but at the same time, it made me feel stronger, in that, it made me feel more optimistic, cux i have a solid foundation of friends, and i know that i am in fact a cheery, outgoing, yet perhaps slightly quirky person....but i just want to let you all know....i thank you all for being great friends, and putting that confidence in me. i miss you guys a lot.....and speaking of missing...

I"M COMING TO CHICAGO Nov. 10-14th. i'm gonna be at the swim team sectionals, so freakn excited. i'm not sure if i can hangout too much, cux i'm ultimately gonna be there to see my dad, and i know he really wants to see my sister and i...but....I'M ALSO GONNA BE IN CHICAGO Dec. 23-Jan. 2...aka....i better be seeing you all!!!! seriously, e-mail me ( e-mail is in above entry)...so i can make plans...cux i really want to see everyone. well i apologize for this lengthy entry...things have been really crazy here, this morning the pipes flooded and there was almost an electrical fire....and i'm startin college apps and what not...so freakn crazy. but i WILL COMMENT YOU ALL BACK>>>I PROMISE and i promise i haven't sooner. so i will leave you all with a few pics from when i was leavin...and also, i wish you all a marvelous week and a

hey guys....im so sorry that this is gonna be short, but i got some homework and summer reading to catch-up on..

well....Canada has been pretty good...the people here are really friendly, so that's a plus. I've been at school for 3 days...today was my first official day of classes...its sorta been crazy though...and stressful. Worrying bout knowing people and where the heck classes are and not eating lunch alone...yea....but what can i say. i will go into depth more about my classes, but i will say im so freakn scared bout AP Chem, and so far AP Calc is pretty easily (scarily enough, probably takin that pre-calc class helped). yea, in AP Calc, I'm one of 4 non asians...sorta funny, but what sucks is that they all stick amoungst eachother and talk to one another in their native language and no one else...so yea. its been sorta lonely...there definitely are a good deal of the a-typical school snobs ( unfortunately), but they're even friendly, and I'm slowly meeting people. Though the other day when we went on our house outting, I was all alone and I was thinking bout Northside and bout what fun I'd be having, and guessing who was doing what...and then I started crying. yea, though I think im gonna have to learn not to think of what could have been because that's not gonna help matters....but I want to say I miss you everyone SOOOOOO much!! and im sorry if i haven't commented back right away, by computer is in a dismal state. so everyone, you must tell me how you are doing...and if you want to, feel more than welcome to e-mail me (cat_harp548@yahoo.com)

well i shall be off for my reading, tho i will say one thing...today, i went to the first basketball tryout and we first ran 3 km (bout 1.8 miles)...omg, i know this will sound really gross, but i have never sweat that much in my whole life....and i was sooooo tired ( and i still ran it in a dismal 17:30 minutes). then we were doin these shuffling drills and i was having a really hard time breathing, and so basically i went to one of the coaches, and i was having such a hard time i couldn't even talk....so i sat out for a while. then later i went back in for a scrimage type thing...i think im actually decent at defense, though i definitely need to work on shots....the old coach seems really keen on having me on the team, but they do need to make a few cuts, and i wouldn't be surprised if i was one of them, because of my horrible running, on top of my breathing stuff. so yea...it'd be cool ( and i'd definitely get into shape)...but if i don't make it, i won't be too disappointed....

college hoppin was fun....i really loved carleton.....

did some beading, went deep-water fishin in lake superior, and caught 6 lake trout ( two of which were reeled in by me ). but then later saw them . cleaned and thus it was a fish-gore horror moment.

target-shootin, as usual. however, we didn't get to blow up anythin this time ( we got to shoot a vcr to shreads once)....

and i have tons of pictures.....a lot of hi-lar-ious ones, so i will post them. though, im finishing packing right now....found out i'm movin the 12th instead of the 13th. however, the week has started out smoothly

Guess who’s getting married tomorrow?!......

My Mom!!!!!

Yea, its pretty awesome. As I’ve told some people already, its gonna be at the top of the John Hancock. Quite exciting indeed. So tomorrow I get a manicure and pedicure and my hair cut ( tho I really need it)…, how hard life is...hehe.and I’m also gonna be the PHOTOGRAPHER. Im quite excited!! 

Then since my aunt got married yesterday (so I found out today she changed it to yesterday…but we weren’t gonna go to the actual ceremony..long story) so we have a flight for 6:30 in the morning on Saturday to fly out to Washington D.C. (where she is) so we can go to the wedding party. I’m really excited,because a. I’m happy that she’s finally getting married ( though i can't say i'm that pleased with the groom...)…and then b. I get to see my family from Africa, my uncle from Switzerland, and I get to see my Grandmummsy!! Hehe. Yea…I’m a little giggly-ish, and tired, so pardon my extreme enthusiasm. Hehe. So I hope you all have a marvelous weekend!!!!

Ps—I promise next post I’ll post pictures from the Wisconsin trip, then of course, ones from the wedding.
